Parking, Transit, and Accessibility Information

There is limited metered street parking. Parking is available at a pay parking lot, located at 12th and Jackson Streets, and one located at the Oakland Museum on Oak, between 10th and 12th Street.
The Recorder’s building is a few blocks from Lake Merritt BART station.

  • Filing of environmental impact reports
  • Para-professional registrations including: process servers, professional photocopiers, legal document assistants (LDAs), and unlawful detainer assistants (UDAs).
    All individual/employee paraprofessional applicants must include 2 passport photos along with the bond, application, and payment.

  • Cash, Debit/ATM Card - In Person Only
  • Credit cards are not accepted for in person and mail requests.
  • Money Order, Cashier's or Traveler's Check - payable to: Alameda County Clerk Recorder
  • Personal, Company or Bank Check, preprinted with account holder's name and address - payable to: Alameda County Clerk Recorder. Out of country payments must be in U.S. dollars.
  • Credit cards (Master Card or Visa) are ONLY accepted for online copy request of Birth, Death, Marriage Certificates, Fictitious Business Name Statements, and Official Public Records.
