Methods of Payment

Cash, Debit/ATM Card - In Person Only
Credit cards are not accepted for in person and mail requests.
Money Order, Cashier's or Traveler's Check - payable to: Alameda County Clerk Recorder
Personal, Company or Bank Check, preprinted with account holder's name and address - payable to: Alameda County Clerk Recorder. Out of country payments must be in U.S. dollars.
Credit cards (Master Card or Visa) are ONLY accepted for online copy request of Birth, Death, Marriage Certificates, Fictitious Business Name Statements, and Official Public Records.

Department of Fish and Game

Effective January 1, 2025

As a result of the passage of Senate Bill 1535, Chapter 667-2006, Sec. 711.4 and 713 of the California Fish and Game Code have been amended to require the Department of Fish and Game (DFG) to adjust filing fees annually for certain environmental document filings and procedures. Effective January 1, 2025 the DFG has implemented fee increases for the following filings:

Notice of Determination - Negative Declaration from $2,916.75 to $2,968.75
Notice of Determination - Mitigated Negative Declaration from $2,916.75 to $2,968.75
Notice of Determination - Environmental Impact Report from $4,051.25 to $4,123.50
Clerk's Handling Fee for each filing is $50.00 - no change

City of Berkeley

Effective January 1, 2024

As a result of the passage of Measure P, on November 6, 2018, and Ord. No. 6072-NS, 68,585-NS to allow the City of Berkeley to adjust annually the real property conveyance transfer tax threshold:

From $15.00 ($1,800,000 and less) to $15.00 ($1,600,000 and less) per $1,000 of full value*

From $25.00 ($1,800,001 and above) to $25.00 ($1,600,001 and above) per $1,000 of full value*

* The full value is rounded up to the nearest $500 before the tax rate is applied.
