What We Do
Clerk-Recorder
Provides mandated services, including recording documents and maps, collecting and distributing related fees and taxes, and maintaining vital records such as birth, death, and marriage certificates. Additional services include the filing of various documents such as fictitious business names, notary bonds, process server and photocopier bonds, environmental impact reports, and other miscellaneous filings.
Office of Contract Compliance (OCCR)
Develops and oversees contract compliance systems, policies, and procedures, and reports on compliance, certification activities, and business utilization.
SLEB Certification Unit
Certifies and recertifies Small Local Emerging Businesses (SLEB) and maintains the SLEB Supplier Query System (SSQS) vendor database.
Central Collections
Collects court-related fines and restitutions, Social Services Agency overpayments, and certain other receivables which are mandated by a myriad of State, Federal, and local laws and regulations.
Tax Analysis
Computes property tax rates, applies them to property tax rolls, processes property tax overpayment refunds, and apportions the property tax collections to the appropriate taxing jurisdiction.
General Accounting
Manages and oversees financial activities of the county. This includes financial reporting, accounts payable and receivable, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations.
Payroll
Prepares, issues, and maintains the County’s employee payroll and administers disability programs.
Disbursements
Processes payments to suppliers, claimants, and contractors.
Internal Audit
Provides a continuing review of internal controls through audits of County departments and review of control self-assessments.
