Vital Record Certified Copy Fee Increase

Please note, pursuant to AB 64 there is a $2 fee increase to HSC103625(f) beginning January 1, 2026. The fee increase is applicable to the cost of certified copies of a birth, marriage, death, fetal death, and dissolution of marriage certificate.

Certified Copy Fees

Birth: $36.00 per certified copy

Marriage $21.00 per certified copy

Death $28.00 per certified copy

CITY REAL PROPERTY CONVEYANCE TAX

Effective January 1, 2026, documentary transfer tax rates will change for the following:  

City of Berkeley 

Due to the passage of Measure P on November 6, 2018, the conveyance transfer tax threshold will change for the City of Berkeley as follows:
